BLEUR Workshop series: [JOY] // Artist: Blandine Bardeau

After a sold out first workshop, Blandine is coming back for a final workshop as part of the [INSERT FEELING HERE] campaign by BLEUR. Come explore your own creativity and the joy of making abstract art through playful experimentations of drawing, painting and making collages in a small and intimate setting. Most of us are terrified of making a mistake, doing the «wrong thing» and adult life often feels so serious. This workshop is about freedom, letting go of our fears, and connecting to a part of us that we don’t usually allow to come out in our busy daily lives.

This event is part of the Bleur [INSERT FEELING HERE] campaign, an artist reflection on chasing our own emotions, the highs and the lows and making space for everything in between.

Price includes all materials needed for the workshop, a totes bag, refreshments and delicious snacks to fuel your creativity. Workshop participants will receive a 10% voucher from our partners Jackson’s Art Supplies.

As with all creative experimentations, things can get a bit messy so make sure you wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Open to anyone, no previous experience required. Over 18s only.

About the artist

Blandine Bardeau is a French born multi-disciplinary artist with an MA in Painting from the Glasgow School of Art, where she developed her love for painting, drawing and soft sculpture. Blandine’s practice has always been interested in the relationship between two-dimensional surfaces and three-dimensional objects. She originally studied a BA Fashion Design Womenswear at Central Saint Martins in London, and after graduating she created a jewellery collection made of plastic tubes.

How to find us

We are tucked away in the Old Biscuit Factory, a historical site which was once the heart of Bermondsey.

The entrance to the Biscuit Factory is at the junction between Webster Road and Clements Road. Search for the sadly permanently closed Shortwave cafe on Google maps, the entrance to our building is the opposite side of the parking lot. Go through the gated entrance as if you were local and look for the white double doors with a staircase at the end of the parking lot. Keep going up the stairs until the very last floor (those stairs never get easier). You will find Bleur Studios at the end of the corridor, Room 308.
